TWO DAYS IN!!!

After arriving a tad late for VIFF 2006 ...seems like we haven't missed anything as Janine McCaw, novelist of OLIVIA'S MINE, a period piece whose story is set in the early 1900's in Britannia Beach, and I made the rounds to THREE events starting with Telefilm's Annual Reception held in the ever increasingly popular VIFF building at Seymour and Davie St....

Attendees included Andrew Ooi, Manager Extra-ordinaire, with his acting client Steph Song. Others included Producer Raymond Massey(fresh from his recent trip to China), Playback's Tracy Houston, Producer, Director etc. David Vaisbord and everybodies favorite - Royal Bank's John Genzel.

Thanx to John Dippong and Shelley N for making sure that every minute was enjoyed before the doors closed and re-opened for the next event!!!

Next up was the CANADIAN IMAGES at the CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL GEORGIA'S BALLROOM...A quick hello to all - played a little fooz ball...A great "catch up" with Andrew Currie after hooking up at TIFF with his film FIDO.

After a quick round through the room, we're OFF to the NSI Celebration in the lower vestiges of the hotel. New friends to meet!!! Including Director, Rob King just arrived from Regina and returning today!!! (I thought WE had it bad)...Other Saskatchewan attendees included Producer Rhonda Baker. Pictured here is Rob King and Janine McCaw!!!

And of course Janine and Shelley N.

A JAM packed night of FUN had by all!!!

Hi All - although "we're" all back in our respective homes...the work doesn't stop.

DJ Tony Barnes of ckln.fm in Toronto and I arranged for him to interview Monique Phillips in Montreal via phone...(YOU DO REMEMBER WHAT A PHONE IS???)...

Webcast Radio Link

A nearly half hour of reminiscing on the film fest - followed by a short political commentary regarding Cdns' in the middle east, made sure to bring home the reality of these times.

Pics of DJ TONY will follow shortly.

And we're now in full swing preparing for VIFF!!!

IT"S NOT TOO LATE to get the pr party started!!! Call us!!!

Heading home!! And ready for VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL FILM FEST!!!

Well - after a few FABULOUS SPA DAYS, and partying nights, last one being TOMMY LEE DJ'ing at the VIP suites at the MIXX, a night club at the BORGATA Hotel Casino and Spa, with just a few wee hours left before my 6:30am departure to the airport for the short flight to Toronto, I was ready for a vacation. A full hour and a half delay in the departure time for the aircraft ensured I wouldn't connect to our scheduled flight.

While in transit, sat next to Mr. J. Eustace Wolfington, Ex Producer for BELLA, who was also returning to Toronto for the last screening for his film (three total) AND the final night of TIFF.

Had a great chat about the film fest, and his films reception at the festival, and discussing future films that he's considering producing next!!!

Missed the connecting flight in Toronto to Vancouver but was only delayed an hour - a FULL TIRING TRAVEL DAY. BUT WAIT!!! Yet another meeting with the GANG from Boris Enterprises who had a recent, new little addition to their family...LITTLE LIVVIE!!! And look at her - who wouldn't be thrilled to be greeted at the door after a long journey by this little monkey???

So although a full, tiring and somewhat inspirational trip nears it's end, a warm welcome back home....made it ALL WORTH WHILE!!!

NOTE to SELF… Next trip - BRING MORE HELP!!!

Can anyone spell PARTY??? That's what we were doing for most of DAY 3 of this exciting Film Festival!!!

Starting with Tonya Lee Williams' ReelWorld Indie Lounge at the Empire in Yorkville, jumping with Celebs, including Danny Glover who gave a heartfelt speech about diversity and inclusiveness. He was surrounded by fans and our Russell Yuen mixed and mingled with many Montrealers, and lot's of photo ops.

NON STOP FUN…

Next Up HELLO! Magazine Party at HART HOUSE at the University of Toronto.

General Manager of Elizabeth Arden, Terry Brown, one of the key sponsors of this FAB event, could be seen mingling with the likes of Kevin Costner and Samuel Jackson. VIP Tent was a cool mixture of people including Merchandise Planner for Gucci, Phuong Le through to Nikki - Psychic to the Stars.

Partied to the WEE hours of the am….Departing Gift Bag included the Best Seller THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA….Someone must think we have time to sit down, relax and read the story that later became the movie.

NOW THAT'S A PLAN!!!

DAY 4

Can anyone spell CHANEL ???

Monique spent the majority of the afternoon being photographed by Josh with HELLO! at CHANEL preparing for her RED CARPET debut . The World Premiere of THE LAST KISS opened at the newly renovated RYERSON THEATRE. CHANEL Executive Director, Public Relations & Fashion Promotion Front Woman, Anny Kazanjian (recently seen with President Clinton wishing him HAPPY BIRTHDAY NO LESS), along with Bernadette (all the way from CHANEL Paris), assisted Monique in finding the PERFECT little dress and ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS Pearl encrusted, strappy, high heeled shoes.

Speeding up to the RED CARPET (special thanx to Jeannie and Michael at Paramount), Monique was first up for her stroll to talk to the media. Etalk, ET Canada, Access Hollywood and our friends at BELL made sure to ask her fun and entertaining questions.

After the RED CARPET, we spent the rest of the night enjoying champagne at the BISTRO 990 - where David ensured we picked the right wines and specials on the menu, then moved into the lounge for more fun and activities!!! Met Lisa, from NY of SATELLITE FM, and scheduled a phoner for Monique upon her return to Montreal. Met and enjoyed the company of the boys, Tierry, Jean, and Dario from OCEAN in Paris who are here to promote their film.

More FUN tonight. But we must allow ourselves to reflect on THIS DAY - the 5th Anniversary of that fateful day now referred to as 9/11.

May we NEVER again witness an event like that in our lifetime!!!

I told you - WE'RE TIRED...just arrived!!!

TECHNOLOGY....

Isn't it wonderful???

We rely on it so much and when it doesn't work...well it's frustrating!!!The last two days the server I'm working from won't allow the Outlook program to "send" - It's a Rogers thing. So, I'm working from Gmail - which this am - ALSO wasn't working. NOW WHEN DOES THAT EVER HAPPEN???

Nevermind...we're BACK and we'll be updating regularly from here on in!!!

The last two days have been busy with arrivals etc. so not too much partying to be done. Met up at the DRAKE HOTEL on Queens ST. West. with our latest client Ms. Monique Phillips, whose pivotal role will be seen this week in THE LAST KISS! Check out her bio and credit list on our web-site.

Getting from downtown to where I'm currently staying visiting family in Mississauga, and being the out of towner that I am, didn't realize the bus system and I picked the service that SHORTED my destination!!! So thanx to the goodness of GO TRANSIT and Driver Darlene, kindly "dropped" me closer to my destination at a very early 12:30am. YES I'm a public transit girl - trying to save the world - one vehicle at a time.

DAY 1...

We're HERE in Toronto to participate in the 31st ANNUAL TIFF.

Flight out - UNEVENTFUL!!! Which is a good thing...

Due to the recent changes in security - unfortunately LOST a bottle of Perfume to the "Security" dept....MY FAULT...I KNEW...and it was a last minute RUSH....So because makeup and perfumes have to be stored in checked-in luggage....landed not only looking a tad weary - but a tad (well you know) !!!

STAYED TUNED to better days ahead...speaking of which - while waiting for my ride, checked out Pat & Mario's at Carlingview AND Dixon Road. GREAT SERVICE, Wine Selection and FRIENDLY STAFF!!!
