Well - I can honestly say I'm not sorry to see the year go - BECAUSE I AM HAPPY TO SEE IT GO!!!

With the loss of so many friends,family, and changes that we are all dealing with - I EXPECT 2007 - to be WAY BETTER!!! It's the optimist in me.

Our clients also lost many family and friends, and it just highlights how important our roles in this life really are - NOT!!! It's about relationships, friendships and warm memories/happy times. WORK - well it's just like sex - YOU CAN ALWAYS GET IT...it just depends what you give up in order to get IT, and the quality of it when you do GET IT!!!

So to all our friends, family (including our clients) we wish everyone a very safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR and look forward to seeing you all soon at a theatre near you!!!

The TEAM AT TRANSLUCENT!!!

FERRIES...

Well for those "IN THE KNOW" - you have to know - I moved BACK FROM THE SUNSHINE COAST SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE YET ANOTHER BC FERRY RIDE!!!

But that didn't seem to matter - as in the past 7 days alone I was on a ferry for 4 of them days...REALLY...

After the fabulous Friday Night at CG's - I "rushed back to Vancouver" so that come Saturday am - I could again - RUSH OUT TO CATCH THE 9:00AM (YES CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???) FERRY to Victoria!!!

BUT this time it was to catch up with my gal pals from ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (OKAY GRADE SCHOOL for those hoitie toities)...

Those moments are tooooo few and far between, and this time we walked on (yes LOUISE AND I) and were met at the other end by CATHERINE!!!

We were there for just one night to camp out in Victoria...YES YOU HEARD ME - CAMP OUT...

Next thing Catherine is rolling us into the EMPRESS HOTEL - for A SECRET WEEKEND RETREAT!!! (HER TREAT)!!! And yes it is MY BIRTHDAY THIS SATURDAY - but not Louise's - but that didn't matter!!!


And yes - I"VE BEEN REFERRED TO AS THE QUEEN - but really in a whole different manner... and there we were - having HIGH TEA....WOW!!! People were trying to take pics of our "fireplace" that we were right next to...AND I THOUGHT IT WAS ABOUT ME!!!!

Okay - so who amoung you REALLY THINK I LIKE TO SHOP??? Well next I'm cutting deals at the BAY and getting GREAT SPECIALS for our girls...(except LOU's PURSE - DARN don't know how I missed that!!!)....

Well come Sunday at 5:00 LOUISE AND I AND A FEW MILLION OF OUR CLOSEST PERSONAL FRIENDS TRY TO BOARD THE SHIP....Minutes to spare...but hey - that's what it's allll about!!! Enjoying EVERY SINGLE MINUTE!!!!

FRIDAY NIGHT'S ALLRIGHT!!!

THE Place to be on Bowen Island last Friday night was at reknowned Jeweller and Songsmith - CHRISTIE GRACE's STUDIO!!!



Christie Grace regailed us with some Christmas Standards along with some of her favourites by Joni Mitchell, and was backed up by Wayne Kozak on Sax, and Michael Creber on the Ivories!!!





OKAY - THE SHOPPING STOPPED to appreciate those great musical moments, but ONLY FOR A MOMENT as everyone had a difficult time figuring out WHAT to purchase for that special someone. BUT HEY - to help with that, CHRISTIE GRACE WHO IS NO SLOUCH - has a FABULOUS Book entitled - WISH LIST - that everyone who sees something they like - can register it - and voila!!! The wish is FULFILLED!!! Hey - I'VE SEEN IT IN ACTION!!!

Not only was the music an added attraction, but the smoked salmon, special hors d'oeuvres, and beverages, kept all in a jovial mood - I mean - WHO LIKES SHOPPING???

Did we mention the cigars???

Can you say FABULOUS!!!

Here's the skinny - AUNTY DEBBIE and Grandma together purchased a Gift Card for Aunty Debbie's young nephew in Toronto... SAID NEPHEW who Aunty and Grandma LOVE, lost his wallet on the way home from work one evening.


Aunty Debbie was not informed of said loss until she visited during her recent trip to the Toronto International Film Festival for our client Monique Phillips in THE LAST KISS, WORLD PREMIERE, immediately followed by Translucent's promotion of our client Darryl Flatman, who's recent MOW was airing on CBC, and we were doing our usual harrassment of the media on our client's behalf.

While we all sat in sorrow (well I DID)...I went - WAIT!!! I THINK THAT WHEN WE PURCHASED THE CARD - the clerk mentioned that it was replaceable in the event it was lost or stolen. Well my nephew said - WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT??? I said - WELL THAT"S WHY WE GOT IT IN THE FIRSTPLACE...because we had to mail it from Vancouver to Toronto, we didn't want it to get lost or stolen - and there you have it!!!

I immediately went to the web-site to find out how to process the replacement and the CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT DIANE, helped me tremendously. She informed me what I needed to do, and when I returned to Vancouver and found the receipt - I simply went to the nearest Mark's Work Wearhouse and GOT the replacement in less than 5 minutes!!!

NOW THAT'S SERVICE!!!
