Parties??? Did we mention the PARTIES???

While I'm dealing with the BLOG not allowing me to post some pics of said parties, we'll just highlight the never to miss one's here for you now - FUN pics to follow..

HELLO! Magazine's recent foray into TIFF has seen some of the best parties at the LIBERTY GRAND with GACK to die for...to the more recent BIRKS JEWELLRY with a fabulous ABSOLUTELY IRRESISTABLE (yes that's the name) parfum by GIVENCHY which is NOW my most favourite. (and others concur ;>} ).

NORMAN JEWISON's BBQ at the famed grounds north of Toronto, has had it's highlights which include SUMMER HEAT WAVES to last year's MUD BATH and everything in between. An afternoon of fun and frolic, food and drink and you even get the ride home!!!

OKAY well I'm warming up my tan (not to compete) for the ETALK party that always has Ben Mulroney looking like he just stepped off of the beach (yep even in a suit he still looks that way)!!!

Not to be outdone ET Canada's four nights at the CASA (mi CASA) LOMA in thunder and lightening, red carpet swimming pools until everyone finds cover...Stars attending include the second generation Michael Douglas (san wife) for his feature KING OF CALIFORNIA which screened at TIFF. Rachael Evan Woods in all her glamour. And the place rocked!!!

Okay back to try to upload a few of these pics we promised!!!

TIFF REMINISCING!!!

Well it's YEAR SEVEN that we've been going to TIFF. And every year has been unique and interesting...

We started our first year representing FIVE actors from a TIFF GALA PREMIERE LONG LIFE, HAPPINESS AND PROSPERITY (which by the way it was EXACTLY as the title suggested, as we toured the festivals across Canada and to the south of our borders).

Starring (AND IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER) Sandra Oh, Colin Foo, Joseph Chang Tseng, Russell Yuen, Kameron Louangxay, and Christina Sousa Ma. It was a FABULOUS event. GROUP PHOTO's / Interviews / FUN!!! And the fun carried on. Being an OPENING FILM garners lot's and lot's of opportunities and invites. Hard to beat that opportunity.

Then we've had actors in films such as THE LAST KISS (ZACH BRAFF)where not only was it their first red carpet for Paramount BUT we had the luxury/pleasure of being coiffed and attired by CHANEL. PS: WE LOVE CHANEL.

Did we mention SHATTERED GLASS, which again saw us in TIFF & TELLURIDE and PREMIERING IN NY. (It's interesting the connections and threads of people that link all of these together, kind of like the Six Degrees of Separation)From Hayden Christiansen attending through to the HUGO BOSS sponsored party at their elite Yorkville property, and on and on.

So this year will be no different. LOT's of FUN, EVENTS & PREMIERE's... and let's not forget the Norman Jewison ALWAYS TO BE SEEN/NEVER TO BE MISSED BBQ!!! Let's hope for some sun this year shall we!!!

Frank Cassini in The Bridge
Vancouverite Frank Cassini heads back to his roots for the CTV/CBS Series THE BRIDGE
March 16, 2009

Local boy Frank Cassini is set to entertain the public when he heads back to his hometown of Toronto to star in the cop drama THE BRIDGE next month.

Cassini, a first generation Canadian of Italian descent, born in Toronto, is thrilled at the opportunity to return to his roots to play Staff Sergeant Bernie Kantor as part of the ensemble cast.

The Bridge is based on the insights and real life activities of a Police Union Head, highlighting the struggles street cops face as they do double duty battling crime and their own insiders, in order to protect society and ultimately themselves.

The series will be in front of the lens from mid-April for three months, and should give Cassini an opportunity to see what's changed since his departure many years ago. Cassini's journey's had him venturing to NY, LA and ultimately winding up in Vancouver to pursue his acting career, which has seen a flurry of activities, most notably his role in the recent big screen blockbuster WATCHMEN.

Often playing the role of cop, Cassini feels right at home with his character, and knew when he was shooting the pilot last summer that this series had the potential to be a hit.

"The whole process of working with the incredible cast and crew was exciting. I felt then and there that this pilot and the producers and directors involved had the potential to create something even bigger. Alan Di Fiore's writing is fantastic. I got a taste of Alan's work when I did a few episodes of Da Vinci's Inquest in which he was one of the principle writers. I'm sure that the role of Kantor is going to be fully realized because of the type of writer he is and the kind of show it is."

NEW ORLEANS

So Life is just grand isn't it??? I of course while in TO ALWAYS (well when possible) stay with my family who hail from Mississauga. So being the GREEN person that I am - I do transit (and I must say I do it rather well!!!)...

Now I'm Leaving Norms's MUDBATH - (OOPS I MEANT BBQ!!!) and just minding my own bizness (REALLY I WAS)...

I'm nearing the end of the Mississauga route, when the fellow in front of me - turns to the guy across the aisle and asks him a question. The guy across the aisle says to him - you should ask HER!!! And remember I don't know what the question is, I don't LIVE HERE, and well you get the jist.

It just so happens that he wanted to know when his stop would be - which was EXACTLY MY STOP - (NOTE TO KATHERINE - YOU COULD BE ENJOYING ALL THE FUN INSTEAD OF TAKING THOSE CABS)!!!

So we get off - and I went - okay so there's the street you're looking for - AND he says he thinks he knows where he's going now - which is home, but he hasn't been here for a while. So I said well I don't know where you live - but where did you return from??? He says New Orleans, and I said HOLMES ON HOLMES??? And he said YES!!! HE WAS MIKE JR!!! SMALL, SMALL, SMALL WORLD!!!

So we chatted for a bit about the project, and who the house had been built for who sounds like a VERY kind caring and deserving individual and I can't wait to see the episode.

So THERE - TAKE TRANSIT AND SEE WHERE IT TAKES YOU!!!
